Labyrinths

A chivalrous pastime as a horticultural “treat”

The labyrinth is a map of our soul. Following its winding path is similar to a journey to discover oneself. In a labyrinth, there is only one single path that leads to the centre.

Labyrinths and mazes are related art forms with a different arrangement of pathways. There are no intersecting paths or dead ends in a labyrinth, whereas, mazes consist mainly of opaque, high hedges where there are built-in obstacles. A labyrinth can also be created using short plants or rocks.

Labyrinths composed of various hedge plants, box trees, bamboo grasses, roses or herbs.
